As Baltimore’s DOWNTOWN LITERACY LINK for twenty years, Baltimore Reads has:

  • Provided adult focused literacy services in a supportive environment,
  • Operated a FREE Book Bank for families, kids and teachers, and
  • Shared our knowledge and resources with communities who want to extend the literacy link into their own neighborhoods.

You can join us in providing Skills for Life for those in need by:

  • Referring students to our programs,
  • Volunteering your time, and
  • Offering financial assistance.

With your help, we can expand services, reduce our waiting lists and offer our portable classroom instructional model at neighborhood churches, recreation centers, senior centers, and libraries.

Enduring societal change requires civic engagement, community outreach and partnerships, volunteer involvement, financial commitment, business support, not for profit leadership and government action.

We need you because our students need us.

Thank you for visiting our website!
